| The power of
this type of programme stems from the way that the action
learning Programme Director creates the learning
opportunities and how the learning process evolves by
mutual agreement between the set adviser and the
participants. ICOM will appoint the Programme
Director and they will remain with the programme
throughout, with responsibility for ensuring the learning
processes are in place, for providing support to groups
and individuals, for helping them forge the link between
the organisation and the programme and for ensuring
ongoing relevance of inputs, projects etc.
The Programme
Director is the architect of the learning process. They
design the programme, deliver some of the workshops,
supervise the group and individual projects and the
personal development plans. They conduct individual
tutorials and help participants to learn from their
experiences and become more effective managers.
