| Given that all
our programmes are job-orientated it is
self-evident that we should take account of the current
issues facing client’s organisations in designing our
programmes. Our approach is to audit each organisation by
interviewing key individuals and reading our way into
their markets, financial performance etc. where that
expertise does not already exist in the Programme
Director. This initial awareness creating activity is
clearly very much the beginning of a detailed appraisal
which goes on as an integral part of the programme as it
develops.
During these initial visit to the organisation the
Programme Director will meet the mangers of the course
participants and other interested parties (e.g. directors
who will be giving presentations) and begin the process of
familiarising them with the aims of the programme, their
roles as mentors and what will be expected of them. The
Programme Director will also discuss the selection
criteria for participants and when they are chosen call a
meeting to describe the programme and give them the
pre-course work to be done.
