The faculty of ICOM have designed and delivered the following programmes, which are being offered throughout the world.  They are based on the work Dr Kinder did with the Economist Intelligence Unit in Singapore, in helping them develop the World Infrastructure Forum in Asia. This initiative was aimed at bringing together senior government officials with key private sector executives, to identify ways to improve opportunities for public-private partnerships to accelerate investment in infrastructure development.  Although this initiative was prevented from developing by the Asian financial crisis of the late ‘90s, it provided the background for Dr kinder to develop action learning programmes in infrastructure organisations and to use them as the basis for developing a model of socio-economic development in emerging markets.

During the following 8 years, Dr Kinder delivered 12 in-company, action learning programmes in the electricity, telecoms, ports, water and construction sectors in the UK and overseas.  These were largely 12-month programmes which led to Diplomas in Management, customised to each of the above areas and accredited by the University of Cambridge (UCLES).  Four of these programmes were 2-year MBA programmes accredited by the University of Bradford Management Centre and 4 of them were funded by the UK’s Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).

What follows are descriptions of parts of the programmes the faculty of ICOM have delivered in telecom., electricity, port, and construction companies.  Details of a programme in Airport Management is also included.  Each programme was designed in the same was as described in the DESIGN section, that is, group and individual projects, PDPs and workshops customised to the needs of the clients.  Examples of the content of these workshops are also outlined.
