The public and private sector in many countries are faced with many new challenges. Traditional capacity building programmes have limited success, and the new challenges will inevitably mean that infrastructure development becomes increasingly fraught with intractable problems.

This inevitably damages many aspects of the economy of any nation, in addition to the adverse effect on the quality of life.

The Infrastructure Development Institutes will provide the focus to face these new challenges, and to create the standards of excellence necessary for a new generation of successful training programmes.
